Miranda was born in Herefordshire but now lives and works on a hill farm in Radnorshire, surrounded by the natural world that inspires her. She began working in ceramics but quickly found the medium didn’t offer the strength and resilience needed to portray the freedom of movement so typical of her work. She is entirely self-taught and has developed a style and technique of her own doing all the welding and construction herself, using both mild steel, stainless steel and Corten weathering steel and mesh. She works mostly to commission but is a regular exhibitor at Quenington in the Cotswolds and Montcrieff Bray in Sussex, prestigious outdoor sculpture exhibitions. Work can occasionally be seen other exhibitions and galleries. Several large pieces have been exported to the USA and Canada and Europe.
Her work is now in the private collections of a number of well-known members of the TV and film community. The Limewood/Home Grown Hotels Group has a number of pieces, including a giant stainless-steel fish next to their smokery, and hares and deer in the grounds. They also commissioned a large artichoke plant for “The Pig Near Bath” a boutique hotel. Many other pieces reside on large private estates where they hold court amongst parkland and pasture. A four-meter artichoke plant has recently taken up residence in Marbella, blending perfectly with its surroundings. The subjects of the work are varied, as is the style and texture of the finished pieces.

Although every piece is created as a “one off” similar sculptures can be made based on the particular piece you may have been seen in situ or on the website. No two will ever be identical as they are individually constructed. If you have an idea of your own, which you would like to discuss, a phone call or email would be very welcome.
